Biography

Professor Oleksandr Kukharchuk, M.D. (Doctor of Medical Science) has accomplished 15 yrs of progenitor cells therapy experience in Ukraine, and 7 yrs in India. Scientific Publications: 250, patents: 17. He developed regulatory documents for stem cells therapy to implement as official treatment in Ukraine. Has innovated technique, how to overcome biggest challenge in transplantation – “Rejection of foreign tissue”. Prof. Oleksandr Kukharchuk guided clinical trials for evaluation of progenitor cells transplantation efficacy in diabetes mellitus, chronic limb ischemia, myocardiodystrophy, liver cirrhosis, male infertility, aging and pancreonecrosis. He is author of the book “Stem cells: Experiment, Theory, Clinic. Embryonic, mesenchymal, neural, hematopoetic stem cells”. Approval Committee member of Health Ministry “Program of transplantation in Ukraine” 2006-2010, Director of Coordination Centre for Organs, Tissues and Cells Transplantation of the Ukraine Health Ministry, 2006-2010; Member of European Society of Transplantology from 2006; Member of European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy from 2012.
