Cancer Stem Cells

Cancer Stem Cells are rare immortal cells within a tumor that can both self-renew by dividing and give rise to many cell types that constitute the tumors, and can therefore form tumors. These cells specially have the ability to give rise to all cell types found in a cancer sample. Cancer Stem Cells have been found in various types of human tumors and might be attractive targets for cancer treatment. Through the stem cell processes, Cancer Stem Cells generate tumors of self-renewal and differentiate into multiple cell types.
